Neoprene is Gross

Neoprene is Gross

"The vast majority of wetsuits on sale today are made of a synthetic rubber called Neoprene. Neoprene - the commercial name for chloroprene rubber - is the product of a toxic and carcinogenic chemical process".

Natural Rubber Protects Kid's Elastin

Natural Rubber Protects Kid's Elastin

Here's an awesome video from science and fashion icon, Dr Karl, on the harmful effects of UV radiation on elastin in young skin. TL;DR cover your child's skin unless you want them to look like a walnut by age 30. Oh and also - Dr Karl has only ever been sunburnt twice in his entire life!

The Slow Burn of Sun Damaged Skin

The Slow Burn of Sun Damaged Skin

Skin damage accrues over the course of a person’s life, beginning in childhood. So if we can reduce our kids overall sun exposure then we drastically reduce their chances of developing skin cancers later in life. But that shouldn’t mean keeping kids in the cupboard with an iPad and a milk arrowroot biscuit. It just means making sun smartness a positive experience that kids willingly opt into.

"Woah Yelly" is What FANTS is All About

We absolutely LOVE Woah Yelly. Not just because it's an awesome print made especially for us by the incredible illustrator, Johanna Walderdorff, but also because it represents so much of what Fants is about.

Annnnd, We're Back!

After a crazy successful test run last summer, we spent the Melbourne winter lockdown developing three new designs with some of our favourite artists. It has been a real mission but we're now stoked to have them ready for Spring!

Meet the Artist

Fants commissioned Korean artist, Bang Sangho, to illustrate our first kids wetsuit. Sangho is renowned for his beautiful otherworldly illustrations and we couldn't be happier with his interpretation of Fants entering the world of wetsuits from a glorious alternate dimension.

Rockpooling and Pineapple Topping 🦀 🍕

Not much beats a day of rockpooling and eating leftover pizza lunch under the shade of a sandstone overhang.

A Journey Beyond the Shore Break of Sound

We think of music like the beach. New songs are constantly arriving in waves that crash on the shore. You can sit on the sand and soak up the sounds, but you can't catch it all. Most music arrives out of earshot and gets swept into the vast ocean where it is forgotten.  Slip into your best deck shoes and join us as we set sail, out into the deep, into uncharted waters where perfect forgotten songs swirl in warm currents. Listen to the playlist here.

First Post-Lockdown Camping Trip 😍

After eight months of being confined to Melbourne, we finally got a chance to get some much needed salt in our hair.
